I have immersed myself in this industry since 1995. I’m an active member in many organizations, including our church where I volunteer. I sit on the board for United Way of Story County and Ames Economic Development, on committees for Master Builders of Iowa, a member of YPO- Young Presidents’ Organization, and a member of the Ames Morning Rotary.
My favorite pastime is being with my beautiful family: wife Angie, daughters Sophia and Alexis, and son Logan. Outdoor activities are a favorite of mine including fishing, hunting, riding bikes with my family, and hiking. You may also find me tinkering with my old cub cadet tractors, playing basketball, investing in the stock market, following politics, or watching the Hawkeye’s play. Go Hawks!!

I began working in construction in 2014 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I have been fortunate to function as a designer, a salesman but found my niche as an estimator.
I grew up in Minnesota (Go Vikes!) in the best family, as the oldest of three. I’ve been married to my husband, Jeff, since 2015. We enjoy travelling, fishing, hiking with our two labs, camping, etc. and we’ve been working on our fixer upper for the last couple of years. I recently started getting my pilots license and can’t wait to continue checking things off my bucket list.
My faith in Jesus is a huge part of my life and I love working with our church and spending time with our connection group any chance I can. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have an opportunity to work for Heartland. My faith and family are my life and Heartland’s welcoming atmosphere has made everyday feel like I’m at another home.
I am an Iowa State University graduate with degree in Kinesiology, however my background started in construction when I was young. My dad was a high school shop teacher and then went on to own a construction company for many years.
My family includes husband Dustin, son Bryan, chocolate lab Zeke, and our rescue cat Carter. We love spending time outdoors, camping is a family favorite. Sports are also a big favorite, we are either watching them on TV or attending an event. We cheer for many teams, some of our favorites are ISU Cyclones, Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Having dedicated my career to the window treatment industry since 1980, you could say I know a thing or two about blinds, shutters, shades and draperies. In that many years, I’ve seen some fantastic new products developed, including automation. Since 2009, I have enjoyed putting my experience to work for The Heartland Companies team. What a great experience it is to be in an enjoyable family atmosphere. In my spare time, I have always enjoyed sprint car racing and have been involved in all aspects of hockey. I also enjoy boating and relaxing at Lake of the Ozarks with my girlfriend Emily.
After receiving my masters in Construction Management from University of Texas, Arlington I started my career in construction in Texas. When I joined the Heartland team I was excited to be part of the “family.” Everyone was very welcoming and they are very enjoyable to work with. In my free time when I’m not traveling back to India to spend some time with my family, I like to travel and explore new things. I also enjoy listening to music and painting.
In the years I’ve been a member of the Heartland Finishes team, I have really enjoyed meeting and developing friendships with new people. The supportive family atmosphere at Heartland allows me to do my job with confidence. I have been in the industry since 1995; half of it as a carpenter and half as a Superintendent for Heartland Finishes. My wife Tracy and I have two daughters named Jenna and Madison, plus a dog named Herky. I coach girls softball and also love to golf.
In 1985, my career in construction got underway. My education and training include the U.S. Navy and Iowa State University, where I earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering. I really enjoy the family atmosphere at Heartland Finishes and working with the great people. I am a member of ASPE and the ISU Alumni Association. My wonderful family includes my wife Kim, and daughters Hannah, Molly, and Jennifer. Favorite pastimes of mine are hunting, fishing, reading, and just about all sports you can think of.
Accounts Payable Manager
I love the family atmosphere at Heartland. I always feel supported and motivated to reach my goals. I have an AA degree from DMACC. I spend my free time traveling, cooking, and fixing up the house with my husband, Ben. I also enjoy practicing yoga and hanging out with my parents and two sisters.
I am very excited to be involved with this Heartland team. Everyone is very welcoming and fun to be around. I just finished my freshman year at the University of Northern Iowa. I am double majoring in Graphic Technologies and Interactive Digital Studies with a minor in Marketing. I love cheering on my teams with Panther Mayhem at nearly every sporting event. I am also very involved with the Salt Company, which is a Christian ministry on campus. I’m from Winterset, Iowa, where my family currently lives with our cat Kylo. I have always enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, art, and being active.
Field Superintendent, Painting
I’ve come to know this industry quite well since starting my career in it back in 1986. What I like best about Heartland Finishes is how our team approaches the day to day challenges of construction. I also enjoy working with everyone on my painting team as well all the other crafts within our company. I have two great kids named Alex and Allison and a wonderful significant other named Mary. When I’m not with my family or at work, you might find me boating, gardening, deer hunting or playing a fun round of golf.
My construction background spans many years. I attended Coe College and also have an Associate degree from DMACC. Working at Heartland provides me with fun new challenges and the opportunity to work with very friendly people. My wife Amber and I have two daughters named Alex and Jessie, and a black lab named Indy. I enjoy watching my kids play sports and I also spend time golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. My career in construction lends itself to another hobby of mine which is buying and fixing up old houses.
I am very excited to work at such an amazing company. Atlantic, Iowa is my hometown, but my whole family moved to Ankeny shortly after me. I am currently a student at DMACC finishing up my Liberal Arts degree. I enjoy going on hikes with my friends, watching movies, especially Marvel movies, and spending time with my little dachshund Lola. I love spending time with my family, especially in the summer when my step-dad gets his boat out.
I am truly blessed to be working at Heartland that has such a great fun family atmosphere! I spent 2 ½ years at DMACC studying business administration. I’m happy to be at job where I can finally put my skills and knowledge to a wonderful use. I enjoy reading, baking all sorts of goodies, traveling when I can and enjoying the outdoors. I am an avid Hawkeye fan, that’s who you’ll see me cheering for especially during football season. I love the time I get to spend with my family, friends and our new dog Ollie.

What a great place to utilize my degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from AIB College of Business. Favorite pastimes of mine include spending time outdoors and anything DIY. I love getting together with family and friends, and whenever we get the chance, traveling with my husband, Curran.
After receiving my degree in Business Management from Iowa State University, I joined the Heartland Door & Frame team. I have a background in Entrepreneurship, but I’ve always had an interest in construction. I enjoy being outdoors, working with my hands, and spending time at the family farm. In my free time, I like relaxing with friends and family as well as cheering on the Cyclones.
I love the atmosphere and culture at Heartland. It truly feels like a home away from home and I enjoy coming to work each day. I’m lucky to be a part of the team here and I’m excited for my future with Heartland!
My career, which started in 1982, includes a decade doing installations in the field and more than two decades in sales. I also have a certificate in Electrified Architectural Hardware from the Door and Hardware Institute, where I am also a member. My family includes my wife Karen and our three wonderful children Julia, Anthony and Laura. In my spare time, I enjoy creating stained glass art, fishing and hunting and am a member of Pheasants Forever. The Heartland family is a great group of people which creates an enjoyable place to work. I love the challenge of producing a great product and meeting our customers’ needs and schedules.
Having graduated from Iowa State University in 2017 with my Masters in Construction Engineering and Management, I began my professional career with Heartland. I am an OSHA certified and licensed Engineer-In-Trainee (EIT) in the state of Iowa. I am also a proud member of the ISU Alumni. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Heartland family. I really enjoy the work hard, play hard attitude of Heartland along with the great intelligent people. Truth to be told, I had never felt as comfortable with any organization as I do working with the Heartland team.
I have always enjoyed playing soccer, badminton, and cricket. My favorite pastime include playing PS4 (especially FIFA), traveling with my friends, camping and hiking. As my family is in India, I always try to visit them once a year and have a great time.
General Manager – Eastern Iowa
I received my Business Management degree from Iowa State University, and am a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators. As a member of the Young Professionals of Des Moines, I am involved in the Greater Des Moines community. I volunteer at the Special Olympics in Ames every summer, and also enjoy traveling hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and pretty much anything outdoors. I cheer for the cardinal and gold. Go Cyclones! Independence, Iowa is my hometown, where my parents, brother, and sister live on our family farm, along with full-time farm manager Duke, our chocolate lab. I feel fortunate to be a member of the Heartland family, which is full of motivated people striving to make themselves and everyone around them better.
I am thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of the Heartland Companies team as CFO. We work together to create an environment of trust, so we can achieve excellent outcomes for employees and clients. Personally, my wife Angie and I have been married for over 35 years and have lived in the Des Moines area since 1992. Our three children and three grandchildren also live in the area, so we enjoy plenty of family time together. Professionally, I earned my CPA certificate in 1987, and have experience in public accounting, manufacturing and construction. I earned my BA from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and my MBA from Drake University. My interest and hobbies include family, golf, bicycling, traveling, and reading. I enjoy sports of all kinds and consider myself an avid Hawkeye, Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.
I was previously an installer for Heartland Window Treatments for 5 years. I’m excited to take on a new role as an estimator. I really enjoy the people I work with at Heartland and the family culture. My wife Adrianna and I live in Ankeny without our dog Louie. In my free time I like to watch sports. My favorite teams are the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Green Bay Packers. I also enjoy live music, fishing, and traveling.

Living in Johnston, my family consists of my girlfriend Liann, our son Grayson (who started Kindergarten in 2019), and our dog Penny. In addition to being a father, I enjoy playing tennis and watching Football and Mixed Martial Arts.
Since starting in this industry in 1984, I have been a part of many projects. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business from ISU. I love the people I work with at Heartland Companies. They are like family to me, and it gives me great satisfaction knowing their families rely on us for their jobs.
My actual family consists of my wife Chrissy, our ten kids and two grand children. My favorite past times include golf, hunting, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers, cheering on all Iowa State athletics and antiquing with Chrissy.
In 2017 I received my masters in Structural Engineering from Iowa State University. I am a licensed Engineer in Training in the state of Iowa and am also certified in OSHA 10 Hour. My structural background helps me in understanding complicated cold formed framing it thrills me to know the new external cladding of a structure.
Working for Heartland is like working with family, everyone makes you feel like family. “Work hard and play hard” is the motto followed by all of us at Heartland. I am proud to be part of this talented organization. My hobbies include going to the gym daily, playing soccer, and going hiking. I get back to India once year to visit my family, as they are the core to my happiness.
Chief Risk Officer
With experience in the accounting side of construction since 1991, I have served as a Board Member, Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President for the National Association of Women in Construction. This year I will become the Vice President for the organization. I graduated from the American Institute of Business with a degree in Accounting and Financial Management. My amazing family consists of too many people to mention, but they are all very important to me and my first priority. I love spending time with my family as often as possible, as well as golfing, reading, taking walks, and listening to my favorite music. I also enjoy relaxing on the beach which does not happen often enough! I am so lucky to work with such great people at Heartland Finishes and I really appreciate the family atmosphere.
I have been in the industry since 1995 and took courses at DMACC, including Architectural Drafting. I am a Hope Ministries M25 volunteer and enjoy spending time with my dog Kota-Bear as well as mountain biking, riding my Harley, working out to the latest Beachbody video, and reading. I also like gadgets, especially Apple products. One of my favorite aspects of working at Heartland is our team building events. We have such great people and a great atmosphere.
Construction has been part of my life since the beginning, tanks to my dad. He was a carpenter and was always working on something. I earned my construction engineering degree from Iowa State in 1997 and have been in commercial construction since then. I enjoy spending time with my wife Tracy and our family: Megan, Nicole, Jake and our English Setter named Zoey. Construction activities are pretty common for us as we typically have some type of home improvement project underway. I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing and the annual Goodguys car show. The shop fridge always has cold beverages waiting for any new or old friends that stop by!!
After spending many years in the landscaping construction industry, I decided to switch careers and join the Heartland Team as a painter. Ten years later I’ve transitioned into the Inventory Manager position. I still continue to enjoy landscaping as a hobby. I enjoy just spending time outdoors and taking part in shooting activities. Go Cubs!!! Go Packers!!
My experience in this industry includes everything from supervision to project management and estimating, as well as being in the field. My career in construction started in 1977 with with a four-year carpenter apprenticeship. My wonderful wife Diana and I have been married for over 30 years. We have two daughters and are excited to now have grandchildren to spoil. I love spending time with my family and doing projects around our home. I also love traveling, riding my Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and going deep sea fishing. Packers trips with “the boys” are also a favorite of mine.
Field Superintendent, Carpenters
I have been in the construction field since 1990 as a union carpenter for local 106. With my recent move into the office I have started a new path in construction as the Field Superintendent over the Heartland’s crew of carpenters. I have been married to my wife, Shelley for years. We have three beautiful daughter, Kaylee, Brittany, and Jenna. All three girls play softball, taking after their dad which keeps us busy all summer long. When we aren’t at softball games we enjoy boating, fishing, and watching the races at Knoxville. I love cheering on the Vikings, Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
Starting with a BS in Construction Engineering from ISU, construction has been a major part of my life. I don’t let my spinal cord injury from an accident in 2010 slow me down.
I am active in many organizations: Des Moines Construction Council, Master Builders of Iowa (MBI), Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI), Ceilings and interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA), and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). I am also involved in Boy Scouts as the Twin Rivers District Chair. I serve as a Trustee on the Painters’ Health and Welfare Fund, the Carpenters’ Pension Fund, and the Carpenters’ Apprenticeship Fund. I am on the State Rehab Council and the Central Iowa Workforce Development Board.
People who know me will tell you I am good at integrating fun at work. I take my work seriously, but not myself. At Heartland, we have a very fun atmosphere in our office. We get down to business when we need to, yet always with fun in mind.
I have been involved in many different aspects of the construction industry since 1987; graduating from Iowa State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design in 1995. I just recently joined the Heartland team & have really enjoyed this group & the environment they have created! My family includes my husband James & our yellow lab, Summit, who always seems to find a way to follow us out the door no matter where we are going! In the winter, I spend time volunteering as a Ski Patroller at Seven Oaks in Boone. We love the mountains so you could find us there either skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer, occasionally. When I have spare time, I also like to quilt!
I am a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Mathematics and Geology. I have been around construction my whole life and I am excited to be working as an Estimator and Project Manager in Eastern Iowa for Heartland Window Treatments. In my free time I enjoy exploring new places; whether it be hiking in a national park, strolling through a museum or just sitting in a coffee shop with friends.
I have been in the construction industry for a couple years now. I graduated from Iowa State with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. I love the family atmosphere that Heartland has to offer and am looking forward to growing with the company. My free time is spent in the outdoors. I have a passion for hunting and fishing, as well as anything that has two wheels.
I have been with Heartland and the local union for 13 years. My wife Betsey and I live in Adel with our son Sage. I appreciate the comradery between field and office workers at Heartland, and the family atmosphere makes every day great. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and doing anything outdoors outside of work. All males of my immediate family have worked or work for Heartland Companies, and it really is a family here.
Sr. Project Manager
The construction industry has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father, as well as both my older brothers, Forrest and Tucker, all have worked or are still working here at Heartland. I finally joined the “family” in January of 2016 as a project manager in Window Treatments. Heartland really strives to have a family atmosphere, and I really enjoy the friendly people and times had here.
I graduated from Iowa State University in 2012, and have been a cyclone fanatic since I was born. When I’m not watching the cyclones play, I enjoy anything and everything outdoors, specifically bow hunting and fishing. I also enjoy getting out on the golf course and playing a round every chance I get during the summer. You also can find me relaxing with my wife, Jamie, and my furry friends at home.
I have been involved with construction since I can remember, cleaning up scraps of drywall on job sites with my dad. I started my career as an Apprentice with Heartland in 2013 when I was 19 and am now a project manager. I attended Carpenters Local 106 Apprenticeship. I enjoy anything and everything hunting and the outdoors. My favorite sports teams are the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa State Cyclones.
Accounts Receivable Manager
“Family” is the heart and soul of my life and over a many year business career. Most of those years have been concentrated in the Construction arena. It has been a true privilege to join the Heartland Companies family where my “day family” is warm, welcoming and a place I love to come to each morning. Every day is a new laugh and smile of some kind! Graduating from ISU in 1979 with a B.S. in Consumer Sciences, I’ve always been involved in the Accounting / Accounts Receivable side. My husband, Steve (36 years and counting!) and I have two grown children, Kevin and Katie, 2-year-old grandson Jacob, that along with my active 93-year-old father and an entourage of pets completes my immediate family. Our energetic family has a variety of hobbies and interests including traveling, antiquing, sports, gardening and any other new adventure that presents itself.
