GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT – EASTERN IOWA

I began my career in Iowa’s local labor unions in the mid 80’s where I discovered my passion for the industry and as a craftsman. In 1987, I joined the carpenters union to expand my experience and knowledge further and eventually feel comfortable enough to establish my own finishing business with my wife in 1993. After almost 3 decades of running a successful business as a finishing contractor, I felt it was the right time to move on and seize the unique opportunity of moving into the role of General Superintendent for Heartland’s Eastern Iowa location.

I have been happily married since 1983 to my lovely wife, Tracy, and have had the privilege of raising my 3 children, Matthew, Mike, and Bailey. Luckily, all three of my kids are awesome and so are their spouses. We currently reside in Cedar Rapids, IA where I enjoy deer hunting, the open road, walleye fishing, and a great round of poker with my friends.

Something people may not know about me is that I have fished walleye semi-professionally since 2003. I have had the fortune of placing in Cabela’s Team Championships in 2003 and 2005 and also in the Masters Walleye World Championships in 2015 and 2017. I once caught a walleye that won me $60,000! Unfortunately, my wife doesn’t let me hang any trophies or plaques in the house so they hang in the garage:)
