Scott Turczynski

Starting with a BS in Construction Engineering from ISU, construction has been a major part of my life.  I don’t let my spinal cord injury from an accident in 2010 slow me down.

I am active in many organizations:  Des Moines Construction Council, Master Builders of Iowa (MBI), Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI), Ceilings and interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA), and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).   I am also involved in Boy Scouts as the Twin Rivers District Chair.  I serve as a Trustee on the Painters’ Health and Welfare Fund, the Carpenters’ Pension Fund, and the Carpenters’ Apprenticeship Fund.  I am on the State Rehab Council and the Central Iowa Workforce Development Board.

People who know me will tell you I am good at integrating fun at work.  I take my work seriously, but not myself.  At Heartland, we have a very fun atmosphere in our office.  We get down to business when we need to, yet always with fun in mind.

Our operations family has a diverse skillset that brings the expertise needed to provide innovative solutions in all aspects of the commercial construction industry. The skills and dedication that our operations family brings to the table allow us to build and maintain strong relationships with the clients we serve.

Heartland was founded on hardworking Midwestern values in 2002, and since then, we’ve grown to become one of Iowa’s premier finishing subcontractors. Our goal to consistently exceed our customer’s expectations is only possible due to the dedication and expertise our team members provide day in and day out. We pride ourselves on providing a safe workplace where everyone can “hang their hat,” knowing that we are always there to take care of each other while reinforcing a culture of respect and autonomy.
